Nested house, LondonA small residential project in Hackney uses one digital three-dimensional model as the single source of all project information. The site is an existing 45m2 maisonette terrace conversion distributed over three floors in the heart of the De Beauvoir Conservation Area. Due to the conservation area restrictions, the designers deliberately decided to concentrate on the reorganisation of the interior space and its relation to a split-level garden on the roof, offering intimacy and privacy as well as unobstructed views to the City of London. The external treatment only hints at the less orthodox internal arrangement. The roof garden is sited on the two shifted bedroom nests, resulting in one section of the garden being at lower elevation, creating a more intimate and private space or outdoor room. Great percy street, LondonA grade II listed georgian property in Finsbury Islington is being refurbished. The historical features on the ground and first floor are being restored and preserved. The alterations in the past that occured on the lower ground and the two top floors are being revisited to create new living areas and new guest floors at the top level. The project is in progress. |
Blenheim crescent, LondonThe house was rebuilt apart from the retention of front and rear facades. The internal arrangement of the house was altered around new stairwell and new floor with rooflight that brings light into all of internal spaces. The lower ground was excavated to create a new link to the newly designed garden space from the kitchen and dining area. |
Clenrigarde gardens, LondonRooftop flat conversion. Fooflights were introduced to the top of the flat to create newly lit areas of the living space. The doors introduced have extra large widths when open link spaces and lend an open plan organisation of the flat. |
Overstrand mansions, LondonThe property is located on the ground floor of Prince of Wales drive fronting Battersea park to the north. The apartment was structurally altered to create seventy square metres of living space fronting the gardens with flexible sliding walls to separate or link the living, dining and study. The rear bedrooms were located in the private area accessed through the central dining space. |
Gloucester terrace, LondonWe have altered the layout of the Grade II listed property, reinstated windows and shutters, introduced a sleeping mezzanine above the kitchen and the hall and introduced a screen that allows to open and close the added spaces to the extra tall first floor property. The project is now complete and happily let out. Clients happy. |
19 Westbourne terrace, LondonThe apartment is situated in Georgian conservation area near Paddington, and benefits from the first floor location and the already existing mezzanine. The original layout of the flat had a number of small spaces devided by partitions which were removed to create the new arrangment devised by new glass walls. This preserve the light in the deep centre of the plan allowed for views that were not present before and new flexible relationships between spaces. The mezzanine was emphasized by the introduction of a new void and by the reinstatement of the original volume of the living room. This was achieved by the use of frameless detailing of separating fire resistant glass divisions. |
